Apple Streusel Pie Filling Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 30 minutes Yield:
1- 9 inch pie
INGREDIENTS
2 cups of
sautéed apples, thawed (leftover from previous lab)
¾ cups of
light brown sugar, packed
¼ cup flour
2 Tbsp cold
butter
DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°F.
·
Thaw apples (keep in zipper bag) under running
water for 5 minutes.
·
Mix ½ of the brown sugar into the apples.
·
Pour apples into pie crust.
·
In a clean bowl combine the remaining brown
sugar and flour and combine.
·
Add pieces of butter into the sugar and flour
mixture.
·
With a fork or pastry cutter, incorporate the
butter into the flour mixture until a crumbly texture forms.
·
Crumble the mixture onto the pie filling.
·
Place in oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
·
Take out of oven and allow to rest for 10
minutes.
Low Down: Always go with making your own crust!! It makes for much more flaky texture with adds to the dishes flavor and richness! Make to pre-bake your crust!
